Dante Solidarus' - Part I

Dante took in a deep breathe of the sulfurous air and coughed as he did so. The young elf's lungs burned and screamed for air, but he could not allow it at the moment. The burning creature before him barred his way through the door that would allow him out and to freedom. Were it not defeated it would surely hunt him down. The thin blonde haired man unsheathed his long sword and glared at the mass of burning flames and hatred. He had never before come across such a thing, but he couldn't let fear stop him this time, not when he was so close. Bursting into a run, Dante Solidarus pushed himself forward into a burst of speed, feinting left and then stabbing his sword deep into the creatures chest, praying that it would meet its mark and destroy the evil before him.

The creature squalling in pain, ducked out from the door, Dante dashed for the door. A few feet from it, he leaped, he took his body into a roll as the creatures jaws opened wide and lashed at him. He tumbled once, then twice before getting to his feet. Dante took a quick glance back, realizing the creature looked up then began chasing him, he took to a dead sprint for the exit of the forest. Fires blazed past him as the creature began letting out balls of fire, the forest was beginning to catch fire, first from one area then to another. "The exist is close, I see it." Dante thought to himself. The creature getting closer and closer to his heels, once close enough, Dante lept into the air, flying through the exit, the creature crashed into the two large, very large trees, all that could be heard was roars of pain and anger.

Dante stood up after rolling a few feet on the ground, looked back at the forest, he then took a step towards it, "I have never been trapped without finding a way out, better luck next time." Dante turned on his heel and began walking towards Guardenshie.

Once upon the gates, he took a look around, noticing no guards on duty, Dante looked around again, he saw no one, only saw the tops of trees lighly blowing. "Hmm, eerie to be honest." The city seemed dead as he entered through the gates. The streets were empty of all life, with silence ruling like an ominous god over the dust filled walkways. As the wind blew softly across the cobble stone roads, debris scattered in every direction, scraping the dry earth as they moved in a rush like wanderers edging towards a path to freedom. As the street widened more and more, a sign dangling by one hook was noticed, a slight squeaking noise is heard which seems to come from this small building. The sign reads, "Noisy Brothel and Inn." Two swinging doors lie ahead, one door swinging slightly from the breeze which is causing the squeaking.

Walking up to the door, nothing is heard, the wood looking as old as a burned piece of wood. The hinges rusty but still movable, no voices are heard from within. Looking around, Dante notices a shadow ducking into the alley way. Stopping dead in his tracks, Dante follows the being as closely as possible. Turning down the next alley, the shadow is running slow but looking back to see if Dante is following. Closing in he can tell the person is of elven blood and is a bit shorter than Dante. He notices the being carries a bow on its back and an elven long sword at its side.

"Why would an elf be carrying a long sword and a bow?." Dante thought for a moment but couldn't figure it out. As he got closer, the being turned another corner, at the end of the alley stood a very large wall made of very stable cobble stone. Closing in with his sword drawn, the being doesn't seem scared but as Dante closed in even more, the being pulls off its hood, revealing elven female features. "Ah, an elven woman, explains the speed. Tell me, why is it you darted into this alley once I saw you." The elf did not answer. Dante took a look around but saw nothing more than walls, then she spoke, "Do you know who I am?". Dante thought for a moment, "I'm afraid not."

"I am Dark Shie, a wanted woman, known for luring people into alley's, robbing them, then killing them." She quickly lashes out at Dante, he then feels something dripping down his left shoulder. He takes a look and realizes she had lightly scathed him, pulling back, Dante could see a dagger within her grasp. Her tone changed quite quickly, now she speaks as though she has hate for him but why, "Come on, I need a good challenge, lets see what you've got. Wound me good, you survive and can take me to the guards, otherwise you lose and will be dead." She plants one foot behind her and slowly plants the other one in front of her. She prepares for another attack.

She leaps into the air, dagger outstretched, her body moving as if its light as a feather. She lands behind Dante, he begins to smile for she didn't even touch him. No pain what so ever, a smile appears on her face, "You smile as you think I missed but you do not feel the pain of poison." Dante looks over his body, as he does so, she quickly dashes forth, slashing her dagger, quickly tossing it aside as she pulls out her sword and gives a quick and deathening stab to his gut. Dante goes to his knees as he realizes he's been had by Dark Shie. She slowly walks up to Dante, kneels down, takes all of his money, and any other expensive possessions. She pulls her sword from his gut, and leaves him to die. As he closes his eyes, he feels his body drifting off into the outter plains of death.

Dante Solidarus awakens in a bed, a soft bed at that, a nurse stands by and notices he's awake, she quickly calls for a doctor. Once the doctor arrives, he quickly walks to Dante's side, checking him over to make sure nothing else it wrong, he speaks, "Your very lucky to be alive. That stab should have killed you but it didn't." Dante's face lit up with anger and revenge, "When I am tricked then attacked, I do not die, I make a recovery quickly so as to exact my revenge, especially on the Dark Shie of Guardenshie."
